SOMÉ PAD will be unveiled by Shogado, which provides from traditional paper products until stationery, based in Kyoto from 1964. SOMÉ PAD is an everyday note taking book with high quality bleed proof paper, preventing pen and marker ink from going onto the next page. Graphics of the cover were created by combining traditional patterns and contemporary colors. This design is then screen printed by hand in layers giving the pattern a unique sense of depth.
The product will be shown at the Maison & Objet Paris 2020 in the Inspiration of Kyoto exhibition area.

SOSTA Collection will be unveiled by Japanese furniture brand ISSEIKI. SOSTA is a furniture collection designed using a combination of metal grid baskets, consisting of thin frames, and geometric wooden shapes in perfect harmony. The products will be shown at the ISSEIKI Yanagawa showroom during the Okawa furniture fair in Kyushu area.

Ryosuke Fukusada and the selection committee have decided that the JIDA Design Museum Selection Exhibition will be held at the Axis Gallery this year. This exhibition features excellent designs suitable for the JIDA Design Museum collection. This year will be the 21st year in a row for this exhibition and over 163 items in the exhibition have been endorsed by JIDA members. The selection committee has held two meetings deliberating on 5 Gold Selection Awards and 49 Selection Awards.
